A custom TV unit is designed around your actual equipment, not a generic box. We plan cable routing, ventilation and power before we build, so the finished wall has no visible cables and nothing overheats. Measured on site, built in our Dubai workshop, installed by our own team.
A shop-bought unit is sized for an average room and an average screen. Yours is neither. The three things that go wrong are always the same:
The sockets are in the wrong place. The unit covers them, so the plug sticks out and the whole thing sits 60mm off the wall.
There is nowhere for the cables to go. They hang down the wall, or you chase the wall afterwards and repaint.
The equipment cooks. A receiver in a sealed cabinet with no ventilation gap runs hot and fails early.
All three are solved at the drawing stage, not afterwards.
Planning the technical side
Before we build, we need to know:
01
Screen size and mount type
Fixed, tilting or full-motion arm — each needs different clearance behind.
02
What equipment lives in the unit
Receiver, console, sound bar, router. Each has a depth and a heat output.
03
Where the power and data points are
If they need moving, that is electrical work and we will tell you so rather than building around a bad position.
04
Seating distance and eye height
Screen centre should sit at roughly eye level from where you actually sit.
Materials and finishes
Painted fronts in high-quality PU paint at a 10% gloss level.
Carcasses and internals in walnut Egger board with a soft edge lipping finish.
Feature areas in walnut veneer, fluted panels or stone, specified separately on your quotation.
For media walls we usually recommend a lighter finish around the screen. A very dark surround makes the screen bezel disappear, which sounds good until the room is bright and the wall reads as a hole.
Ventilation, properly
Any closed compartment holding powered equipment gets a ventilation gap built into the carcass — not drilled in afterwards. Where a compartment is fully enclosed by design, we specify a vent grille. This is the detail that decides whether your receiver lasts three years or eight.
How long it takes
Three to five weeks from sign-off of drawings, depending on finish. Installation is typically two to three days for a full media wall, one day for a floating console.
Common questions
Can you hide the cables completely?
Yes, within the joinery. Cables run inside the unit to a single exit point at the socket. If the socket itself is badly placed, the honest fix is to move it before we build.
Can the unit be removed if I move home?
A floating console can usually be taken down and refitted. A full-height media wall is scribed to your ceiling and walls and is effectively part of the room — it is built to stay.
Do you supply the TV mount?
We can, or we work with the mount you already have. Tell us the model at drawing stage so the fixing points are built in.
